With more capacity than the standard yield, the higher yield cartridge is ideal for heavy printing needs. 

It’s easy to identify a high-yield HP toner cartridge, they are usually indicated by an X at the end of their names, for example HP 26X, and HP 80X which are also high-yield capacity cartridges.

What’s The Difference Between HP 05X and HP 05A Toner Cartridges?

As we can see, an HP 05X toner cartridge is the higher capacity version of the HP 05A toner cartridge, however, they are not interchangeable among all of the HP LaserJet Pro printer versions.

Looking at the compatible printers above shows us that an HP 05X Toner Cartridge is not compatible with the HP LaserJet P2035 and HP LaserJet P2035n printer models.

Those two printers can only use an HP 05A toner cartridge and not its larger capacity version. If you notice that the cartridge does not fit into either the HP LaserJet P2035 or HP LaserJet P2035n printer models, then you may be trying to use the HP 05X toner cartridge.
